PHP, ASP, and Java classes providing distance and proximity searching are provided. The database can be utilised in a wide range of projects that draw upon proximity-based searches in Australia.

This database can be used to enhance a range of projects: store locators, online community proximity searching, Google Maps centre point reference, services or points of interest proximity searching.

Does it include postcodes for each place name?

Yes. The database contains all Australian suburb/town names along with thier associated postcode, state, and longitude/latitude values. The database does not contain the centroid latitude and longitude value for each postcode - these are available in other products on our website.

Do I need knowledge about web programming to integrate it in to my website?

Yes. The database is provided for web developers wishing to implement proximity and distance-based calculations using postcodes and suburbs in to their website. PHP, ASP, and Java classes providing distance and proximity searching is provided.

What about duplicate place names in each state?

Place names that have two or more instances in one state have been renamed to provide greater clarity regarding their geographic location. The original Australia Post suburb name for all locations are provided in a separate database column (please see database preview at the bottom of this page). How many place names does your database contain?

The database contains 16,133 place names. The database is reviewed every six months. Purchasers are notified of updates to the database via email and can purchase an update for $55 incl GST.

What are the license restrictions of this product?

You may use this product in any project you or your business is directly involved with. You may not redistribute this product or a modified version of it. Your implementation of the product must not allow it's latitude and longitude values to be displayed on-screen or within accessible source code. A technique to avoid this is to round the latitude and longitude values to three decimal points before display. View the license agreement before purchasing.

What is your refund policy?
